When We Call Our Pastor

Christian SpeakerAs a staff member of a church that will, hopefully soon, call a lead pastor; I’d like to say this to the man God is bring to us:

I believe that you have authority to lead this church, and I have a mandate to follow. So long as I see you pursuing the Lord in your decision making, I will follow you, and champion the cause of Christ along side you in whatever way possible. I am fully trusting that the Lord will guide us as we run into dark place for His sake, and I am not afraid of losing my job, my social status, or my life for the Gospel.

1. You don’t have to convince me to follow you, Jesus has already done that.
2. You don’t have to change your message to appease my itching ears, Christ’s story was, and is, enough for me.
3. You don’t have to prove that you are my authority, scripture has already asserted that.
4. You wont have to beg for my assistance, my submission is already laid down.

All you need to do is lead. Run headlong into whatever the Lord calls our congregation to encounter. You must charge the gates of Hell for the cause of Christ, and they will not prevail against us. Where you go, I will go!

But you must be the first to go…

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you. Hebrews 13:17
