Mission Trip
Posted on: July 24, 2012, by : Jeremy A WalkerThis year, the youth of FBC Ropes will be traveling to Gustine, TX to work at the Diamond J Youth Ranch for our mission trip. We will be working with a group of foster children and their foster parents on a 290-acre working ranch. Renovating a small home for additional occupancy, working throughout the housing complex and some ranching duties are just some of the things that we will be doing.
We are excited about this trip seeing as how it is the first Mission Trip that FBC youth have taken in many years. Additionally, the young group that is going will provide an excellent base of students for future trips. Building a foundation of Mission Work and Trips is a foundational step for our young ministry, and taking a group of younger students is one of the best ways to ensure that Mission Work will always be a vital part of our ministry to the community around us, as well as the rest of the world.
Some of our prayer concerns are:
Safety of Travelers
Effectiveness of tools and equipment
Communication with the children we will be serving
Effective communication with each other
Focus on the Lord’s work not ours
Energy and Stamina
Spiritual Awakening for our students and leadership
Call to future ministries
Eternal rewards, instead of earthly trinkets
We are so glad that the Lord has made a way, where there seemed to be no way. Please pray for our group as we leave this Sunday at 2:30pm.
