Investments
Posted on: December 2, 2010, by : Jeremy A WalkerMy wife and I were discussing the value of investing in new believers and developing ministers. We were not debating the value of the investment, but instead were listing the many ways that such an investment could be made. Fully aware of the church and all that churches do to help support these individuals, we were attempting to find some ways to help people face to face.
Some of the times we do nothing but give money to organizations that help people, but neglect the personal investment into the lives of those who need it. Mission trips and other events are important but will never replace the value of consistent investment into the lives of growing believers.
I am challenged and compelled to begin to invest in the development of believers and young ministers. Though I am a Youth Minister and work with students each day of the year, I am no less responsible for the development of young ministers. We as believers must invest in their ability to live, study, and work in ministry. This means that we invest our time, resources, money, and experience in order to make it possible for them to develop into the individuals that will grow the kingdom of God in the most effective way possible.
Find someone in whom you can invest, and sacrifice your comfort for the sake of these young men and women, and for the ministry of the gospel.
